Today's Date
When this assignment was first introduced my first ever thought was "A cat who is a scientist and his assistant who's in a holographic fish bowl." It sounded so cool in my head but, it didn't translate well into paper so I opted for goth girl and her raven or scuba girl and her jellyfish friend.

I wanted both concepts to be complete opposites from each other: different heights, aesthetics, values and relationship to either sidekick.
In the iteration stage, I ended up going for a zombie girl with a ton of piercings and a very short mini skirt, which is made out of cigarettes! I wanted her to look like the undead but fashionable with her sunken eyes and green skin.
As for her sidekick, I kept the raven/crow animal. I love the mean look he has and the spiked choker and mohawk.
Both of their aesthetics matches each other.
In the final design, I made her had very pale and sickly skin tone. I fell in love with her skirt and once people realized that it was made out of cigarettes, they made joking saying she was a walking fire hazard.

As for the crow, he was perfect since the concept stage, I love the choice of giving him colorful tips at the end of his mohawk and the white outline to make him pop more on screen.

I opted for a soft shading / gradients in this piece since there was a lot of harsh lineart to balance it out and I wanted to practice using vivid colors.
I love this dynamic of them in an arcade and she is getting mad that she lost. You can see that its all friendly rivalry and nothing can break their friendship.
